Biography of Robert Allen

Education

Robert Allen graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Florida with a B.B.A in Accounting and Transportation & Logistics. He also completed the University of North Florida’s Undergraduate Honors Program. Additionally, he participated in study abroad programs in China, Japan, Argentina, Brazil, India, and Ghana. After Undergraduate, Robert attended Mississippi State University where he earned his MBA with emphasis in Finance and Master of Information Systems. At Mississippi State University, Robert served as President of the MSU MBA Association and participated in the Global Leadership Program in Seoul, South Korea at Kyungpook National University.

Robert was recognized as a David A. Stein Scholar, the University Scholar Honor Society Man of the Year, a KPMG scholar, Florida Institute of CPA’s Academic Achievement Scholar, UNF Student Government Leaving a Legacy Award, and African American Student Union Above and Beyond Award.

An Agent for Change

While traveling in Brazil, China, Africa, and urban America, Robert saw how families and businesses were not able to realize their full potential because they lacked financial knowledge, had inadequate financial resources, or were impoverished. Robert’s passion to change this dynamic led him to start The Allen CPA Firm.

Robert founded The Allen CPA Firm to make a difference in the lives of individuals and businesses by bridging the gap between tax and financial planning. The Allen CPA Firm is focused on the long term financial well-being and success of its clients. Robert contends that those who build a solid financial foundation can realize their dreams—starting a company, sending a child to college, creating more jobs, and helping others.

Community Activist

In addition to his work life, Robert is passionate about serving the Texas community. Robert volunteers as a Tax Preparer for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA); he enjoys listening to the stories and making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. Robert also volunteered at the Jacksonville Public Library, the Museum of Science & History, the City Rescue Mission, served as a Jaguar mentor for at‐risk youth, and volunteered in Ghana to help renovate a children’s orphanage. Through volunteering, Robert recognizes the importance of helping and caring for others.

Track Record for Results

After Graduate School, Robert worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Philadelphia, PA as an external auditor in Healthcare, Non-Profit, Technology, and Financial Services Industry. After PwC, Robert relocated to Houston to take a position in the Audit Department of Halliburton and worked in the United Kingdom, China, and Canada.

Robert has unique experience of assisting several Fortune 500 companies across different departments (Logistic, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Tax, and IT) with technical accounting, financial statement analysis, budgeting, taxes, financial analysis, audits, reviews, and internal controls, to name a few areas of expertise. Robert has a proven track record for adding value, increasing profits, reducing cost, and improving operational efficiencies. For instance, he helped a Fortune 500 company save $250k by implementing green and energy saving strategies. Robert not only has the experience of working with multi-billion dollar corporations, but with families and individuals as well. He has helped transform the lives of families and individuals by implementing tax saving strategies and providing financial advice. Robert is passionate about his clients’ success and is committed to making a difference.
